How Do I Install A Call Box?
To install a call box, open the front door of the call box via the security screw or key. There are hinges on the bottom of the box for the front door to open. Once the front door of the call box is open, screw the box onto either the pedestal mount or mount it on the architectural wall. Once the box is securely fastened to the wall or pedestal, connect the wiring by following the user manual for the specific controller type.

How Can I Make My Gate Work Automatically?
You can get your gate to work automatically by programming the opener to open or close at certain times of the day, installing sensors to work when vehicles pass by, using the cell phone app, or using a transmitter and receiver to open and close the gate. Check your gate opener's manual to make sure you can do all or some of the above options to have your gate open and close automatically.

Can Operators Be Mounted Underground Or Concealed?
The gate operators cannot be mounted underground. Our gate operators are small and sleek enough to blend into almost any environment. Most BFT gate operators are designed to be low-profile and easily concealed. This low-profile design gives less attention to the gate opener.

When Should I Use A Swing Gate Versus A Slide Gate And Vice Versa?
A swing gate is generally recommended when you have limited room on the sides of the enclosure or fence. Swing gates are usually a little cheaper compared to slide gates. On the other hand, slide gates do not require as much room as a swing gate in front of the gate. Slide gates also let the driver pull into the property as it is partially open. This is usually not possible for swing gates.

Why Is A Call Box Called A Phone?
A call box is called a phone because it can be used with a SIM card and controlled via cell networks. Our BFT Call Boxes and Intercoms can be used with AT&T and T-Mobile networks. These can work with SMS and a phone app available on Google Play and the App Store.
-
What Types of SIM Cards Can Be Added To A Call Box?
Regular voice and SMS text sim cards should only be used. Do not use a data-only SIM, as those are only for tablets and will not work with a call box. AT&T is recommended, but T-Mobile will work, also. There is an included AT&T SIM card at no extra charge. Ensure the SIM card has been activated and registered with the network before inserting it into the call box.
